How to prepare
Class 6 is the year when history, geography and science become separate subjects, so a good GK base helps in all of them. Start with the section you know best to build confidence, then move to the sections where you are less sure. After each section, read the explanations aloud; saying a fact once helps you remember it.
Many questions here link to the class 6 textbooks, such as the Harappan cities, the Vedas, the Buddha and Mahavira, magnets, light and plant parts. When you study a chapter at school, come back to the matching section and test yourself. Parents and teachers can use the sections as short class quizzes of 5 or 10 questions.
Study tips
- Do one section a day and mark the questions you got wrong so you can retry them after a week.
- Connect each history fact with a place on the map of India, such as Lothal in Gujarat or Sarnath near Varanasi.
- Turn science questions into small experiments at home, such as testing which objects a magnet attracts.
